I have been with BP and TNK’s JV in Russia TNK-BP from the very first day back in September 2003 until its last day March 2013. So I decided to share my insights about the inception of a truly remarkable corporate culture that was forged in corporate wars and infighting between its shareholders but still produced a unique working environment that up to this day has not been replicated anywhere. As an eyewitness to the entire story, I sought to cover how BP systematically, and successfully overcame the forces of Russian inertia, but also provides a Case Study in culture change management that should prove as valuable as it is fascinating to any reader with ambition to enter new markets.
