About CBE&C
Dmitry Kuzin, Vice Rector for International Relations of International University in Moscow in a meeting with Anatoly Yakorev, then Vice President of World without Corruption International Alliance Foundation (WWC) offered to create a Center for Business Ethics to be hosted by IUM. A. Yakorev supported the idea and suggested compliance be included in the Center’s activities as a key component.
Since A. Yakorev is a member of Society of Corporate Compliance & Ethics (SCCE) https://www.corporatecompliance.org he indicated that a much greater role of compliance is needed to ensure the outreach of Center’s activities in light of a new Article 13.3 in the federal law No. 273-FZ. Also taking into account A. Yakorev’s previous work as Deputy Executive Director at Center for Business Ethics & Corporate Governance http://www.ethicsrussia.org where he under the leadership of Matthew Murray developed and launched first ever in Russia Collective Action in the energy area called Russian Energy Compliance Alliance (RECA), Mr. Kuzin fully supported such an initiative needed to bring greater transparency and integrity to the Russian business environment. Upon conclusion of the meeting D. Kuzin and A. Yakorev agreed to set up Center for Business Ethics & Compliance as a structural entity within IUM.
It has been decided that the objective of the Center is to establish a platform for educational purposes to foster integrity and promotion of higher ethical standards of conducting business in Russia by Russian companies, multinationals, business associations in Russia. Also to advance, promote, train and spread the culture of corporate compliance through Collective Actions and Integrity Pacts, to create a best practice exchange hub for all stakeholders and to set up workshops, seminars, training modules and conference platform for supply chain and procurement for Russian and multinationals to improve their compliance with the Russian federal law 273 Art.13.3, FCPA and UKBA. Best practices and show cases are to be used for further research and promotion at the International University in Moscow in relevant Departments.
